Living with a brain injury often means thinking ahead.
Something as simple as remembering your medication – or realizing you need it after you’ve already settled in at home – can become a much bigger challenge than most people realize.
In Part 15 of my journey, I share why planning ahead has become an important part of my recovery and how small routines can help reduce stress and support better health.
💊 Medication Is Part of the Routine
For many people living with a brain injury or another chronic condition, medication is an important part of daily life.
Taking it consistently, refilling prescriptions on time, and keeping it accessible can help avoid unnecessary stress and interruptions in treatment.
🏡 Thinking Ahead
There are days when going back out simply isn’t easy.
Fatigue, pain, mobility challenges, or cognitive symptoms can make even a quick trip to the pharmacy feel overwhelming.
That’s why planning ahead – whether by organizing medications, setting reminders, or checking supplies before running low – can make everyday life a little easier.
🤝 Accepting Help
Recovery doesn’t mean doing everything alone.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is ask a family member, friend, or caregiver for support when we need it.
Accepting help isn’t a sign of weakness – it’s part of building a sustainable recovery.
🌱 Small Habits Make a Big Difference
Simple habits like using a pill organizer, setting phone reminders, or creating a medication routine can reduce stress and help you stay focused on healing.
Recovery is often built through small, consistent steps rather than dramatic changes.
