Sometimes we think finding our life purpose means discovering one huge answer.
A career.
A dream.
A mission.
But sometimes purpose begins with much smaller questions.
What do you truly want?
What makes you feel alive?
What brings you peace?
What needs to change?
This video shares 11 questions to sit with when you are trying to understand your life, your priorities, and the direction you want to take.
You do not have to answer them all immediately.
Sometimes simply letting the questions stay with you can reveal something important.
💭 1. What Do You Truly Want?
Not what your family wants.
Not what society expects.
Not what looks impressive to other people.
What do you actually want?
Being honest with yourself can be uncomfortable, especially when your answer does not match what other people expect from you.
But understanding what you genuinely want can be an important place to begin.
💗 2. What Are You Grateful for Right Now?
Before focusing on everything that is missing, look at what is already here.
What is good in your life today?
What do you have now that you once wished for?
Gratitude does not mean ignoring the things you want to change.
It simply gives you an opportunity to recognize what already has value.
Sometimes clarity begins with appreciating something we have stopped noticing.
⏰ 3. What Makes You Lose Track of Time?
Think about the things you naturally enjoy.
What can you spend hours doing without someone pushing you?
What captures your attention so completely that you forget to check the time?
Those moments may offer clues about what interests you and what naturally draws your attention.
🪞 4. Do Your Actions Match What Matters to You?
It is easy to say something matters.
But our daily actions can tell us something different.
If health matters, how are you caring for your body?
If family matters, how much time are you making for them?
If you want a different life, are your daily routines moving you in that direction?
Our actions can reveal our priorities more honestly than our words.
🌿 5. When Do You Feel Most at Peace?
Think beyond being distracted or constantly busy.
When do you feel genuinely calm?
Where are you?
Who are you with?
What are you doing?
Those peaceful moments can tell you something about the kind of life you may want to create.
Purpose is not always found in achieving something enormous.
Sometimes it is found in discovering what makes an ordinary day feel meaningful.
✨ 6. What Are You Quietly Proud Of?
Think beyond the achievements other people applauded.
What have you done that only you truly understand?
Maybe you survived something difficult.
Maybe you kept going when nobody was watching.
Maybe you did something you were afraid to do.
These private victories can tell us a lot about our strength and the person we are becoming.
🍃 7. What Are You Holding On To That You Need to Let Go?
Maybe it is an old fear.
Maybe it is someone else’s expectations.
Maybe it is a version of yourself that you have already outgrown.
Maybe it is a mistake you continue to punish yourself for.
Not everything we carry needs to come with us into the next chapter.
Sometimes moving forward requires putting something down.
🌱 8. What in Your Life Is Asking to Change?
There may already be something you know needs attention.
It might be the thought that keeps returning when everything becomes quiet.
It might be something you keep telling yourself you will deal with later.
Discomfort is not always something to silence.
Sometimes it can be a signal that something no longer fits.
🏡 9. If Nothing Could Stop You, What Would Your Normal Day Look Like?
Instead of imagining only the biggest dream, imagine an ordinary day.
What time would you wake up?
What kind of work would you do?
Who would be around you?
What would you have time for?
The life we truly want is not only found in extraordinary moments.
Sometimes it is hidden in the ordinary days we wish we could experience more often.
👣 10. What Is One Small Thing You Can Start Today?
You do not need the perfect plan.
You do not need to feel completely ready.
Choose one small step.
Send the message.
Open the book.
Make the call.
Start the project.
Take the first step.
You do not have to change your entire life today.
Sometimes you simply need to stop standing still.
🔮 11. If Nothing Changes, Are You Okay With That?
This may be one of the hardest questions.
Imagine your life exactly as it is today.
Same routines.
Same feelings.
Same patterns.
Now imagine that life one year from now.
Then five years from now.
Would you be at peace with where that path leads?
If the answer makes you uncomfortable, do not automatically push that feeling away.
It may be worth listening to.
💗 Your Purpose Does Not Have to Be One Big Answer
Finding your purpose may not happen in one moment.
It can develop through the choices you make, the things you care about, the people you love, the challenges you overcome, and the way you choose to spend your time.
You may not know exactly where you are going.
That is okay.
Start with one question.
Then another.
Notice what keeps coming back.
Notice what brings you peace.
Notice what gives you energy.
Notice what you are ready to release.
And most importantly, notice what small step you can take today.
🌱 You Can Change Direction
Life does not have to remain exactly as it is simply because it has been that way for a long time.
You are allowed to reconsider.
You are allowed to change your priorities.
You are allowed to discover something new about yourself.
You are allowed to create a life that feels more aligned with who you are becoming.
You do not have to have everything figured out.
You just have to be willing to ask yourself honest questions and take the next small step.
💗 Love Love Brain Note
Finding purpose can look different for everyone, especially after a major life change or brain injury. There is no single timeline for figuring out what comes next. Give yourself permission to move slowly, ask for support, and focus on what is realistic and meaningful for you right now.
